“Trout-Lily” is another great Spring flower. Mine are out in mass. The flower is beautiful, but most people miss them as they bent down towards the ground. The leaves are also my favorite as they appear to be camouflaged. They are considered edible, the very young leaves and the corms. But digging the corms should only be done if there is plenty, and they can be mildly emetic (causes vomiting). I leave them alone and just enjoy their beauty.

The Trout-Lily is out in mass on my side bank. Notice how the flowers face down, so they are often missed.
